George Woods Solo Exhibition: Monumental

Sat 1 July - Fri 14 July

City life is a blur compared to my country roots; and the move between the two has been monumental.

The Show is a collection of works leading up to and during my time at the National Art School. With a mixture of drawing, painting, ceramic and photographic works (to name a few), I am able to present a conversation between my ideas and the audience through artworks. Themes explored are identity and sexuality in country life, the move from the natural world to urban land and inner conversations about moral rights and wrongs. Along with these thematic works I also present a more intimate direct form of art making through observational and experimental drawing. The National Art school says that “drawing is a fundamental of art, refined and expressive”, hence why I display a monumental amount of loose drawings and supporting sketchbooks.

Thank you,
George Woods
