Youth Art and Craft Spring Break Program
Evans Arts Council Incorporated has been awarded a grant from the NSW Government to run a series of 20 workshops through the spring school holiday break. These workshops are aimed at the 12-24 year old age group. The Office for Regional Youth’s Holiday Break program provides young people in regional NSW with the opportunity to enjoy a range of free and subsidised activities to reconnect, socialise, learn new skills and have fun during the school holidays.
“We have an exciting program of events” reported Cheryl Armstrong, Youth Activities Co-ordinator. “We are running 2 three hour workshops over 10 days during the school holidays. Everything from art, to paper craft, wire wrapped gemstones, and textile crafts will be offered”. Each activity runs for 3 hours, starting at 9 am for the morning session, and 12.30 pm for the afternoons. All participants will be well supervised with all volunteers undertaking a Working with Children Check.
All activities will be held in the meeting room at the rear of the old Evans Shire Council Building, 7 Lee Street Kelso. These activities are free to attend, with morning and afternoon tea provided to participants. Many of the activities will also provide participants with a take home pack to continue their creative journey.
More information on what’s on offer is available on the EAC Facebook page at facebook.com/EvansArtsCouncilBathurst, or by contacting workshopeac@outlook.com by email.
