FABLES OF THE MUDGEE CAMEL by Michael Bourke at the Rosby Gallery
Fri 17 March - Mon 1 May

Curated by Rosby’s Kay Norton-Knight for Rosby Gallery – Michael Bourke’s solo exhibition, Fables of The Mudgee Camel, explores the amazing and mostly true story of Adolphus George Taylor.
Depicted through a series of surrealist painting and written accounts, Mudgee-based painter Michael Bourke has captured the fascinating tales of the somewhat mythical Adolphus George Taylor – also known as The Mudgee Camel.
Through Bourke’s research, stories of Taylor have been uncovered and occasionally altered, presented on a canvas of Mudgee in the Eighteen Hundreds. If history is correct, Taylor was a local teacher, journalist, member of parliament, rogue and drunkard. At one stage he also sued Prime Minister Edmund Barton.
PRESENTED BY ROSBY WINES & GALLERY
This exhibition will feature new works of acrylic on canvas.
