Compareo is BMECs new inclusive arts program, providing an exciting opportunity for people with disabilities to explore performance skills. The facilitator is Catherine McNamara: Catherine facilitated her first performing arts program for people with disabilities at the ASPHAD Centre in Lima, Peru. She formed the ‘Performing Hearts’ group at the Cerebral Palsy Alliance in Sydney from 2016-2018 and continues to work in disability. Catherine has had 15 years’ training in traditional dance forms and four years’ training in BodyWeather, a contemporary dance method that emerged from Japan. Catherine co-wrote an interactive children’s show, ‘Erth’s Prehistoric Aquarium’ with Erth Visual & Physical Inc. For the past five years she has performed in this work and toured regional Australia, New Zealand, the USA, and Abu Dhabi. The cost of the workshop $330 per term. This can be paid in weekly instalments. Starting Tuesday 9 February 10am – 1pm Bathurst Memorial Entertainment Centre, 105 William St Bathurst NSW 2795 Carers are welcome to attend.
