Classic Series: Essential Divinyls!
Thu 2 November at 6:00 pm - 10:00 pm

Sydney. 1980.
The golden age of Aussie pub rock.
Chrissy Amphlett found an instant creative chemistry with WA muso Mark McEntee, formed The Divinyls and released their first attempt at songwriting, the energy charged Boys In Town.
A band fronted by a woman was a rarity in the rock scene of this era, and Chrissy was determined to make a change. She was headlining, being the bad girl and being however she felt in the moment. It was about being real.
Essential Divinyls showcases songs from their debut studio album Desperate (1982) through to their fifth and final album Underworld (1996). 40 years on from the release of Desperate, the Divinyls and their songs remain iconic, as do many of the bands who were shaped from the hard knocks of the local pub scene.
Essential Divinyls brings back to the stage Melissa Stanford, (vocals), Hughie Brown (lead guitar), Mark Bradbury (lead guitar and keyboard) Paul Burge (bass guitar) and Pete Thoms (drums), following the success of their sold-out Blondie shows.
Grab your tickets for a night of solid Aussie rock.
