Celebrating NSW Seniors Festival
Wed 1 February - Sun 12 February
Bathurst will celebrate the NSW Seniors Festival from 1 February to 12 February with a variety of events and activities for seniors to enjoy.
Mayor of Bathurst Cr Robert Taylor said this year’s theme is ‘Celebrate Together’ and is an opportunity for seniors to have fun, get out and about, socialise with friends and celebrate.
“The Seniors Festival gives us the opportunity to celebrate the valuable contribution seniors make to the Bathurst community. A variety of events, activities, entertainment and workshops will be on offer for all seniors to enjoy at various locations.”
“Seniors will have the chance to have a tour at the Central Tablelands Collections Facility and explore the history at Chifley Home followed by morning or afternoon tea.”
“Bathurst Library is hosting an array of events including an Author Talk with Ned Manning, a Movie Matinee featuring “The Healer” and the launch of their new program Computer Coffee Club.”
“In addition, Bathurst Regional Council’s Children’s Services will be visiting the Bathurst Rail Museum with residents of Whiddon Aged Care with train themed activities followed by morning tea.”
“I would like to encourage seniors in our community to get involved in the many wonderful events being held in and around our city, and celebrate together,” Cr Taylor said.
Council has developed a program of activities in collaboration with the Seniors Festival Organising Committee. The program is also proudly funded by the NSW Government in association with Bathurst Regional Council.
