Celebrate with Cementa

Sat 11 March

Remember when we bought a building?

A year on, and Cementa Inc is thrilled to announce that we have successfully raised over $360,000 from the NSW Government to upgrade our building in Kandos to make it more inclusive, accessible and fit for purpose.

This includes putting a new roof on, installing solar panels and climate control (Wayout is a big space which currently gets cold in Winter and hot in Summer), new gallery lighting and workshop space. We hope to create a space which is more welcoming and comfortable to our community, more accessible to visitors, and more conducive to the art making we do within it.

The timing of this announcement conveniently falls a week before our 10th birthday celebration so we now have double the news to celebrate!!

If you’re planning to join our birthday bash this Saturday, 11th March, and haven’t yet booked, please click the link below. The pre-party afternoon program is free and no bookings are needed. Details below.

“Welcome to Kandos” was made with no funds and limited experience on equipment held together with rubber bands. It exists only because of an unfailing belief in Cementa and a dogged commitment to document it for its legacy. Cementa’s 10th birthday proves just how right you can be.”
