A woman on a quest to find freedom embarks upon a dramatic and life-altering journey from Mexico to Los Angeles.

Carmen (Melissa Barrera – In the Heights, Scream), a captivating and determined young woman, flees her home in Mexico to escape a brutal cartel. Grief stricken following the death of her mother, she attempts a dangerous and illegal border crossing to the U.S. When she is ambushed by a violent border patrol agent, a fellow patrol member and returned soldier, Aidan, saves her. Now on the run, the two journey towards Los Angeles to seek out Carmen’s godmother, the mercurial nightclub owner Masilda. As they travel north, Aidan finds himself drawn to Carmen’s passion and free spirit, and his attraction to her grows. He too dreams of a new life free from the shadows of his past.
