WAYOUT ARTSPACE KANDOS
Assemblages and sculptures, prints, photos, videos and live performances tackle our sticky relationship with this useful but monstrous family of materials. The opening event promises to be serious but lots of fun with blessings performed by the witty and unapologetic Sisters of Perpetual PlastIx, a Ukulele performance of “Plastic in the House” with community participation from the Kandos Ukulele Group, Washing Up! (you can clean up after yourselves rather than chuck your trash in a bin and walk away), Be blessed! and Bell Ringing.
.arts Gallery is excited to present the Art4Fest exhibition which brings together the works of 4 very talented local artists during the Bathurst Winter Festival. The exhibition will showcase the works of James Lyle, Spencer Calveley, Karolyn Graham and Stephen 'Sven" Rogers. Such a variety of styles and influences - the show will be a feast for the eyes!
Mudgee Arts Precinct is delighted to present Mating Dance by Anna-Wili Highfield, an installation of courtship formations. The sculptures are an homage to the brolga – Australia's principal dancing bird. Suspended like marionettes, the birds are sewn from waxed cotton and have stopped mid-ballet, in a gesture of call, response and mimicry.
Composer and musician Bree Van Reyk has created an accompanying sound piece which will intermittently join the dancing birds with instrumentals inspired by the brolga’s bold trumpeting.
