Australian Romantic & Classical Orchestra
Sat 7 August at 7:00 pm
Australian Romantic & Classical Orchestra is a world-class orchestra of leading Australia musicians who are dedicated to the performance of Classical and Romantic orchestral and chamber music repertoire in historically informed style on period instruments.
The second half of the 18th century was a time of extraordinary revolution in music, driven by many huge leaps in virtuosity made by musicians of the Mannheim court. Many techniques developed at Mannheim can be heard in Hayden’s much loved ‘Drum Roll’ Symphony and Mozart’s ‘Haffner’ Symphony and Horn Concertos were hugely influenced by the abilities of the musicians there. We are fortunate to hear one of the world’s finest horn players, Anneke Scott, performing Horn Concerto No.3 for us.
