Amy Vee + Anna Weatherup + Josie Laver: Live at The Victoria Bathurst – CANCELLED

Sat 27 May at 6:00 pm - 10:00 pm

Join Anna, Amy & Josie for a magical night of songs, stories, good food & wine!

⭐️ Anna Weatherup, who grew up in Townsville, is perhaps best known for turning all four chairs on The Voice in its second season, with her audition garnering over 1.2M views on YouTube. Since then, Anna has worked tirelessly to shape a truly unique & engaging creative identity, gathering a loyal community of followers via her many live shows &, during lockdowns, via live-streaming on Twitch.

Anna’s long-awaited album ‘Crossing the Sea’ is slated for release on 3 March 2023 & singles have already been making waves, including top 40 chart positions on iTunes & 100k+ streams on Spotify.

Anna also recently toured as a band member for Hayley Mary, playing several festivals in NSW & QLD & opening for Liam Gallagher at Aware Super Theatre in Sydney.

⭐️ Amy Vee is an award-winning songwriter & performer with extensive touring experience in Australia & internationally. Amy has moonlighted as band member for other artists including Australian music royalty Jon English & Tim Freedman, all while building a solo career, opening for touring acts such as Luka Bloom, Passenger, Newton Faulkner & Mark Seymour.

Her award-winning self-penned body of work includes two solo studio albums, an EP & several singles. Her new album, recorded live with a 6-piece band, is expected for release in early April.

The shows will be comprised of two sets, each artist playing their own material, as well as a few special onstage moments together. Audiences can expect to be enchanted by these two accomplished & captivating artists.

⭐️Call her a rising star. Call her whatever you like as long as the description contains the words Very and Good. Josie Laver is bursting onto the Australian country music scene, bringing with her a rare and undeniable authenticity. She not only loves country music, she lives it.

Josie Laver sings with style, swagger, attitude and insight. Hers is a voice that is both new but sounds like it has lived for a thousand years. Write and sing about what you know is an old adage – and a true one. There’s pretenders and then there the real deal – those whose daily existence is reflected in the music they create.

By day, Josie runs sheep and cattle on her family’s farm in the broad high plains of southern New South Wales near Boorowa. By night, she sings, plays guitar and writes songs of love and heartbreak. As a little girl, she loved two things: music and horses. She grew up on the music of Kasey Chambers, Gillian Welch and Bonnie Raitt. Throughout her teens, she poured her time and energy into her horses, and music increasingly took a backseat as she started down the path of becoming a professional showjumper.

A few years down the track, burnt out from the long hours, hard work and injuries that come with the equestrian lifestyle, she moved back to her family farm, sold her horses and saddles to buy a guitar, and began working on ideas that would later become the songs on her forthcoming debut album.

The album (produced and co-written by Melbourne-based artist Matt Joe Gow) shows Josie grabbing the reins of her music career with both hands, proudly embracing her country roots.

Josie Laver is authentic, real and from the heart. Take the ride with her.
