ALLEGRI & THE B.C.O. WITH GLORIA
Sat 6 May at 3:00 pm$35 – $40.
(Or Allegri Singers and the Bathurst Chamber Orchestra with
Antonio Vivaldi’s Gloria.)
With rehearsals nearing their peak, Allegri Singers and the Bathurst Chamber Orchestra are almost ready to present their showcase of ancient, baroque and contemporary music, featuring Vivaldi’s wonderful Gloria. The remainder of the program will include orchestral and choral works, from 16th to 20th century.
Leader of the orchestra, Nicole Hammill, has been putting the players through their paces with the accompaniment to Gloria, and the other orchestral pieces. Nicole is a highly accomplished and qualified musical performer and teacher, with wide experience in Australia and the U.S.A.
Musical Director of the choir, William Moxey, is bringing his rare combination of skills to bear, with each rehearsal a condensed masterclass in vocal production, choral cohesion, and an infusion of joy in the making and sharing of music. William enjoys a highly successful career as a singer, choral director and teacher, and has been the Musical Director of the Allegri Singers for the past 15 years.
As an illustrious Australian conductor recently noted, the performance is merely the tip of the iceberg – the other seven ninths are in the rehearsal process!
Under William’s baton, the ensemble will give of their very best, and audiences are in for an inspiring and exhilarating afternoon of joyful music.
Performances at 3 pm.

Sunday, May 7. At the Uniting Church, Bathurst.
