Lueth & the Power of Equality bring The Red Hot Chilli Peppers album, ‘Blood Sugar Sex Magik’ to Little Albert’s!

Due to popular demand, Lueth & the Power of Equality have added a 2ND show!!

One of the most iconic albums of the early 90’s, Blood Sugar Sex Magik launched the Red Hot Chili Peppers not only into the mainstream but into superstardom. After making a name for themselves in the L.A scene as explosive funk-rock band throughout the 80’s, by 1990 the Chili Peppers members and sound had solidified and they were about to embark a landmark journey with mega-producer Rick Rubin. Seconded away in an LA mansion the group produced a massive 17 song opus that included world wide hits such as Under the Bridge, Suck My Kiss and Breaking the Girl ensuring that this album was the soundtrack to a generation.

Performing this album, in it’s entirety is ‘Lueth Ajack & The Power of Equality’. Lueth, having an established career as a primarily pop/soul/RnB artist was at first reluctant to take on the Kiedis role, but he soon embodied the energetic front man and brought a whole new charisma to the album. Guitarist, James Buchanan grew up playing this album, learning to play John Frusciante’s elastic and angular lines. But after spending more than a decade playing in jazz ensembles, orchestras and musicals, he has to relearn how to quite literally, hit the guitar like Frusciante all over again. With no doubt the core of this group is drummer Jacob Pickett and Bassist Quinn Luxford, who by far had the hardest jobs, the chili peppers rhythm section is one of the tightest around. Luckily…they already knew the album note for note! Both are die hard Chili Peppers, set on doing this album complete justice.

The unique thing about Blood Sugar Sex Magik is there is nowhere to hide and every part matters, meaning the band play this album note for note! Every bass line, drum fill and word is album perfect, and all done with an extreme amount of energy.
