2023 Waste 2 Art Sewing Maker Space
Wed 3 May at 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm
Free entry
We’ll supply sewing machines, some materials and assistance to get you started
Come into the Library and use our shared space to get started on your creation for the 2023 Waste 2 Art competition.
In 2023 Waste 2 Art aims to highlight the problem of textile waste and the ways we can make a difference in our everyday lives to refuse or use less, re-use and repurpose, donate or find the right options for recycling.
Your entry must demonstrate the re-use and recycling of waste but you can use any material you like. It doesn’t have to be made from fabric.
The library will supply some ideas and a little bit of expertise as well as the sewing machines, scissors, un-pickers, glue, whatever we can do to help you get started.
You might like to have some ideas ready and bring some materials you have been able to find to use in the project. We will have some materials on hand for those who haven’t squirrelled a stash away!
Bookings are essential and spaces are limited.
Age: This workshop is suitable for adults and young people over 12 years of age. Under 12 years must be accompanied by a carer.
*** We will be using sewing machines, glues, sharp objects, hammers. Please consider the appropriateness of this event for your child’s age and abilities. ***
