Welcome to our BIG list of arts and cultural events happening in the NSW Central West gathered from artists, event producers, great local venues and groups across the region.
This is a busy artistic region. There’s usually more than 2000 arts and heritage events happeing in the region each year. Of course, 2020 looks a little different but the events are slowly returning where possible.
NEW: HAPPENING ONLINE. We’ve added a new category for workshops, exhibitions, virutal tours and activities that are now happening ONLINE. Click here for the listings

Visit Gang Gang Gallery Lithgow in July to experience the Timescapes Exhibition, Friday July 3rd to 27th, exploring the impact of the fires that ravaged the Greater Blue Mountains during our recent Black Summer, and the COVID pandemic that devastated our economy.
The exhibition will feature sculptures and art works from local artists and an innovative Timescape Voices exhibition.
FEATURED ARTIST – HENRYK TOPOLNICKI
Guest Artists – Lithgow High School Students
Peter Beeh – Aerial Cinematographer
Bill Hope – Illustrator
Artists – Jane Canfield, Natasha Daniloff, Wendy Anne Hawkes, Boyd McMillan, Anjum Olmo
Curated by Brad Diedrich, Sean O’Keefe and Barbara Lepani, and set against moving images, Timescape Voices weaves the story of our times through the voices of Sean Butler, firefighter at Clarence, Sharon Riley, Patsy Wolfenden – Wiradjuri Custodians on cultural burning, Jayde Lutischini on youthful uncertainties, Rich Evans on reimagining the future and Chris Tobin on the practice of just being with nature at Chris’ art camp at Bell.
Due to COVID-19 restrictions and NSW Government Guidelines we will be running a series of smaller events over the duration of “Timescapes”. More information about these events will be available on our website closer to the Exhibition date.
