Sydney Symphony Livestream – Bathurst Library

Wed September 18 at 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm

Join us for a free ‘symphony among the shelves’!

Come to Bathurst Library to watch the Sydney Symphony and conductor Vladimir Ashkenazy perform two Elgar masterpieces and Vaughan Williams’ magical Tallis Fantasia – streamed live from the Sydney Opera House!

Elgar’s powerful and poetic Cello Concerto was his favourite and most candid creation. The greatest cello concerto in the repertoire, it’s a tour de force for sensational young soloist Andreas Brantelid. The gorgeous Enigma Variations is a portrait of Elgar’s friends and includes one of the most beautiful moments of music ever written.

There will also be a special live performance by Bathurst-based acapella choir Eclectica. This talented local choir sings music from around the world, including African songs, folk, soul and a few examples of early music.
