Welcome to our BIG list of arts and cultural events happening in the NSW Central West gathered from artists, event producers, great local venues and groups across the region.

This is a busy artistic region. There’s usually more than 2000 arts and heritage events happeing in the region each year. Of course, 2020 looks a little different but the events are slowly returning where possible.

Re-Upholster, Repair and Rejuvenate – Workshop

This course offers a wonderful introduction to the practical and traditional craft of upholstery and timber restoration. It is also a COVID19 aware event please see the precautions that will in place to protect the safety of participants during the workshop, below workshop description.

Experience the delight and satisfaction that creating something by hand brings to your life.

Learn new skills and have some fun during this two-day, workshop. Bring-your-own-chair for re-upholstery, or small timber furniture to repair and rejuvenate (this could be a bedside table or small occasional table etc).

You will be taught the techniques required to restore your piece during the course and acquire the confidence to tackle new projects on your own.

Learn the correct and safe procedures on how to strip and reupholster a chair.
Learn how to strip furniture, and the different timber finishes, as you rejuvenate your own piece of timber furniture.

Tuition is tailored to each individual project, however demonstrations will be given to the group for the techniques covered during class: in this way, you will be introduced to a broader set of skills, above and beyond the techniques needed for your own project.

Most materials and use of tools are included in workshop fees. Please supply your own top fabric, if your chair needs new foam or stuffing this can be bought in class.

You will need to send an image of your chosen project to the tutors once you have booked your place.

Groups are kept small so please book early to avoid disappointment.

All tools will be disinfected between classes
We will be working in a well aerated space to allow for the 4 square meter personal working space.
Groups are kept to a maximum of 6 (plus tutors)
Latex gloves and masks will be available for anyone who would like to use them
