Welcome to our BIG list of arts and cultural events happening in the NSW Central West gathered from artists, event producers, great local venues and groups across the region.

This is a busy artistic region. There’s usually more than 2000 arts and heritage events happeing in the region each year. Of course, 2020 looks a little different but the events are slowly returning where possible.

NEW: HAPPENING ONLINE. We’ve added a new category for workshops, exhibitions, virutal tours and activities that are now happening ONLINE. Click here for the listings

On Stillness

Mon June 29 - Mon August 31

On Stillness is an evolving online exhibition presented across the social media accounts of public art galleries. It highlights artwork from the collections of each institution that embody the idea of stillness. Initiated by the National Art School and Newcastle Art Gallery, the exhibition draws focus to the collective experience of stillness imposed by the COVID-19 lockdown.

#onstillnessexhibition has been a great opportunity to celebrate the richness of Orange Regional Gallery’s Collection, placing it in dialogue with other major collections across New South Wales. The growing exhibition presents a myriad of works from early twentieth century Australian art to now, connected online, and embodying that elusive stillness.

Stay tuned for the next post on our Instagram account @orangeregionalgallery, and follow the hashtag #onstillnessexhibition to follow the growing collection of works and gallery collaborators.
