Music on Mount David Live Stream

Fri May 29 at 7:00 pm

$7.50

Thank you to you all for joining Véronique and me last Friday. We had such a wonderful time playing to you all. So many of you were watching all over the country – and internationally too. It was an honour to play for you all, wherever you are.  It has been hugely humbling and totally heart-warming to receive all the support from you all, the good wishes and then the feedback that came our way. Thank you to you all… it means so very much. I’ve loved all the stories, the photos and the thoughts from you all!

I am realising more and more – not just from performing, but also the teaching I’m doing at the moment – just how powerful music is. It can lift us up, make us smile, cocoon us and gently soothe. It is so vitally important – especially in these times of strangeness and uncertainty.

So the live streaming experiment continues – the next concert will be on Friday May 29. I’ll be joined by percussionist Ben Sibson for a concert with a difference! Not only will Ben be playing vibraphone (and the sound of cello and vibraphone is just magical), but we’ll be adding hand-drums to Renaissance dances and Bach’s third cello suite. You’ll be tapping your feet – guaranteed!

We gave a number of highly successful concerts in both 2019 and 2018, and thought a dose of dances, exciting rhythms and high-energy playing was just what everyone needed in these strange times…

Here’s what you need to do. Go to Humanitix (https://events.humanitix.com/bitd_perc) and buy a ticket – it’s only $7.50. If you’d like to give a little more, then that would be really welcome, as it’s a hard time for artists right now – but $7.50 is all we are asking. At 5pm, you’ll be sent a youtube link to the concert that you need to click on before 7pm. IF YOU HAVEN’T GOT THE LINK BY 5.30, PLEASE EMAIL US SO WE CAN SEND IT TO YOU DIRECTLY. When you click on it, you’ll see my back room with the Bach in the Dark sign on it. You’ve arrived! Pour yourself a glass of wine.

Someone will probably walk past and say hello at some point beforehand. The best listening experience will be to listen through speakers, or headphones – but I’m happy for you to listen in any way you want to. (Bear in mind that this isn’t broadcast quality –there may be some glitches that will be out of our control. But we’ll do our best!) At 7pm, or shortly thereafter, we should appear (if all goes to plan). And then we’ll play for you as beautifully as we can. Have another glass of wine. Sit and be in the moment. Hopefully you can forget all the craziness, just for a short time.
