Mingaan NAIDOC Day

This year’s Mingaan NAIDOC Day: Voice. Treaty. Truth. Celebrations will take place Sat Oct 19 at the Cranbrook School, Wolgan Rd in the Wolgan Valley:
This beautiful culturally authentic little event will kick off at 10am with an Official Opening comprising of a Welcome to Country to be conducted by Sharon Riley (pictured) & a Smoking Ceremony featuring Aunty Di, Uncle Ralph & the Yalmambirra Boogijoon Doolin dancers: Stalls, historical & nature displays featuring the Taronga Zoo Mobile, cultural displays, demonstrations & workshops, live music featuring Uncle Col Hardy & Johnny Huckle; bush tucker; lunch from 12 noon; more live music & cultural demonstrations including roping & weaving; dance; explore the surrounds
In the evening: a Bush Dinner (sit down around 6pm – menu to be advised), live music featuring Dale Huddleston & the Riverbank Band; indigenous astronomy, camp fire yarning (if fire regs allow): Free Camping
