Welcome to our BIG list of arts and cultural events happening in the NSW Central West gathered from artists, event producers, great local venues and groups across the region.

This is a busy artistic region. There’s usually more than 2000 arts and heritage events happening in the region each year.

Sun November 1 - Sat November 28

It is my absolute pleasure to welcome four emerging Australian female artists into the gallery.

Celebrate all that is FRESH:

Rishelle Kent:

Rishelle Kent is an emerging contemporary artists with a fresh and joyful colour palette. Born and raised on a property near Lake Cargelligo, she now calls Orange home with her husband and 3 small children. She is inspired by her love for the landscape in which she lives – big skies, rolling hills, wide-open spaces. Painting from her garden studio among the hills provides endless inspiration for her vibrant and optimistic representations of the places and things she loves. Whilst being a born creative, Rishelle decided this was the year to give painting the time and energy she’d been craving – and had been loving every minute since.

Jane Thompson:

Born and raised on a farm in the Southern Tablelands of NSW, the bush and nature has been Jane’s friend for as long as she can remember. It is her place of peace, freedom, solace, solitude and more importantly, her inspiration. Moving from the chilly south, Jane spent a number of years living and working in the outback, where her travels and adventures spanned from the wide expanses of Broken Hill to the vast and extraordinary Kimberly region of WA before settling down in the bubbly streets of Brisbane with one husband, two small children and one mischievous pup.  Jane’s vibrant and varied art works reflect the diversity and divergences of her life and life experiences. The depth and boldness in her paintings highlight Jane’s strong and enduring relationship with our incredible Australian landscape – All the way from The Bush to the bubbly streets of Brisbane.

Kelsie Rose Davis:

Kelsie is an emerging artist based in Orange NSW. Although relatively new to painting, Kels is a lifelong creative. From drawing pictures in the dirt while moving sheep on the family farm, to recent years building her home on the weekends with her husband, a desire to learn and create has Kels playing with various mediums on her artworks. She has found her happy place using venetian plaster, acrylic and powder paints to create semi-abstract, textured works. Switching constantly between her bold, unstructured style and her heavily textured, floral style, Kels can be found either dancing away to her favourite songs with her two boys in toe or enjoying a warm cup of tea in her studio.

Samantha Coronel

Samantha was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina. From an early age she showed an interest and an inclination for art and dance. She was accepted to study at the Manuel Belgrano National School of Fine Arts where she studied and immersed herself in the world of art. After graduating, she was swept up by dance and has spent more than two decades in the professional world of Tango. In the last few years, she has returned to visual art. In her work, Samantha focuses on the use of colour to paint emotions. Her colours are clean and used in open and closed plane shapes, together with angular lines, to create an overall structure. Samantha is currently living in Forbes, NSW.
