Entries close: Sculptures by the Bush

Thu April 2

Blayney has previously been known for the annual Hay Bale Art Challenge, and this year not only will you see Hay Bale Art throughout the region you can expect to see a whole lot more.

2020 will bring an introduction of two new categories all falling under the banner of ‘Sculptures by the Bush’. A broad Farm Art Challenge will allow for farmers with limited hay a chance to participate and the Scarecrow Competition will allow for community members with smaller residential proprieties a chance to get involved. The traditional Hay Bale Art Challenge will continue with residents across all of Blayney Shire encouraged to participate.

With the display period inclusive of the April School Holidays, Sculptures by the Bush will allow plenty of chances to travel through the region and not only see the artistic displays by locals with picturesque country views but also visit the surrounding historical villages.

On the Blayney Council website in April you will find a digital map showing all the sculptures as well as places along the route where you can stop for lunch, browse through local shops or visit local attractions. Maps of sculptures can also be collected from neighboring Visitor Information Centre’s and local businesses.

Sculptures will be on display from Monday 6 April – Monday 27 April so make sure you get out to the Blayney area and enjoy the picturesque country landscape and celebrate Blayney Shire’s traditional agricultural heritage.
Entries close Thursday 2 April.
