This is a busy artistic region. There’s usually more than 2000 arts and heritage events happeing in the region each year. Of course, 2020 looks a little different but the events are slowly returning where possible.

Book Talk – Adam Courtenay

For the first time since March, visit the library for an in-person event and meet acclaimed author Adam Courtenay to discuss his latest novel ‘The Ghost & The Bounty Hunter’.
1803: Convict William Buckley escapes into the wilderness of the Kulin nation (now Port Phillip) to take his chances. He is found by local Aboriginal people who take him in as a Wadawurrung man. 1835: Bounty hunter John Batman arrives seeking to acquire pastureland around the bay.
What happens next ends in betrayal, the theft of Kulin country… and the birth of a city. The frontier wars had begun.
Adam Courtney is the son of prominent Australian author Bryce Courtenay. Adam is a Sydney-based writer and journalist who has had a career in the UK and Australia. His previous book was ‘The Ship That Never Was’.
