FROM OUR EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR:
Regional arts gets a restart with bonus funding

It’s hard to remember a time we were busier (okay, Artstate Bathurst comes to mind). It’s good news though.

Thanks to some new funding we’ve been working hard over summer to build a solid selection of projects and activities across our regional footprint. Watch this space for extended projects, support for local projects, music gigs and professional devlopment opportunities for artists and another round of Micro Grants.

I also want to let volunteer organisations know that the NSW Government is offering a small support package for small volunteer/not-for-profit organisations that can demonstrate a decline in earned income of at least 15% in 2020 compared to 2019 (amongst a few other criteria). This isn’t a broadly open funding round but if you think your organisation fits please contact me and I’ll give you more details.

The NSW Government’s Country Arts Support Program (CASP) has been announced too (see story below). Eight projects in our region were funded this year (slightly more than we normally get funds for) and we’re looking forward to some great, grass-roots projects coming to life in the region.

You’ll see in the stories below too that our staff has grown. Welcome Patrick and Heather to the team (joining myself, Christine, Aleshia, Maryanne, Steven, Kate, Kathy and Max).
