Angus Thompson wins Regional Storyteller Scholarship
ABC have annoucned Bathurst-based actor Angus Thompson as one of two winners of the 2020 Regional Storyteller Scholarship.
The 27-year-old said he will take the opportunity to write and direct a series of online comedy videos to be filmed locally with the assistance of ABC content makers.
“This will be the first time I go out on my own to bring a personal project to the screen,” Angus told ABC Central West.
“I am very excited to show people a new weird comedy featuring a guy with cerebral palsy.”
Each episode, Angus will review consumer products and the accessibility of regional tourist locations from the perspective of a person living with a disability.
The scholarship is an initiative between The Department of Social Services and the ABC.
Angus came to prominece as co-star and co-creator of ABC ‘Fresh blood’ comedy pilot ‘The Angus Project’, created with Nina Oyama, which was filmed in Bathurst.
