Ama & Nana is a new Australian play written in, about, and for Bathurst by Disapol ‘Oakkie’ Savetsila. It has been shortlisted for one of Australia’s most prestigious playwriting awards, managed by Sydney Theatre Company. The script has been in development by Bathurst’s Arbour Theatre Company, with the support of BMEC Local Stages, directed by Ruby Conolan. The Award-winner and the next Patrick White Playwrights Fellow will be announced next Tuesday 19 May at STC.

Disapol Savetsila
Disapol Savetsila is a Bathurst based writer and theatre-maker, graduating from the University of Wollongong in 2017 with a Bachelors in Creative Writing.
His first full-length play Australian Graffiti was developed and staged by Sydney Theatre Company as part of their 2017 season. Disapol has co-written several plays for Theatre versus Everything, including PressOne4Love (2015), The Late Act with Mason Manhattan (2018), and A Campfire Story (2022 & 2025).
