Light painting is an exciting and creative photographic process that offers an opportunity for students to engage in a unique learning experience. The essence of light painting is in its visual magic – its wow factor. After exploring the world of light painting, students will never look at photography in the same way again. Light painting explores and celebrates the very essence of photography, which is the recording of light. Light is a powerful symbol that can add to a student’s sense of wonder and mystery about the world. The residual benefit of light painting workshops for schools is not only the experience that the students take away with them, but it provides teachers with a valuable visual photographic resource of creative and artistic images made and hence owned by the students. These images are really useful in applications such as school literature and other online publications. That sense of ownership over a work of photographic art is an important outcome for building a student’s faith in the artistic process.

Code Club is an exciting 6 week after-school program - every Tuesday, 5-6pm starting 8 May through to 12 June.
During 2018 Orange Regional Museum will work with regional educators and crafts people to deliver engagement days where schools can learn about local Indigenous food, culture and tradition.
Life Drawing classes commence on Tuesday 1st May at 9:15 and on Wednesday 2nd May at 6pm. The 3 hour classes will explore fundamentals of drawing, the foundations of all artistic pursuit. A block of four classes is $200.00
High school students have an opportunity to add to their coding skills at “Blender Code Club” being held by Parkes Library.
Sessions initiate little ears to classical music, singing, percussion, dancing and musical games. In partnership with the Orange Regional Conservatorium.
