The NSW Young Regional Artist Scholarships close soon. We’re running a workshop to help you get your application together.
The NSW Young Regional Artist Scholarship provides $10,000 to individual artists and arts/cultural workers, aged 18-25, living in regional NSW, for professional development.
Two workshops will be held locally Tuesday May 31 and Wednesday June 1 to help Central West creatives put together applications for this money.
Offered by the State Government, the scholarships are open to artists and performers from all art forms, including dance, design, digital arts, history, Aboriginal arts, literature, music, theatre, screen and the visual arts.
Scholarship applicants design for themselves an individual program of professional development. This could be a combination of activities such as creation of new work; mentorships, internships or residencies; short-term courses, workshops or other training; time spent on research and development; skills development; or even experimentation in their chosen art field.
Applications for the scholarships close 27 June 2016.
Arts OutWest is offering free workshops to help young local creatives apply for this funding.
Scholarship applicants will be shown how to design a program of professional development, write up a budget, gather support material and put together an application.
Arts OutWest’s executive director Tracey Callinan and Bathurst Memorial Entertainment Centre’s manager Stephen Champion will lead the workshops. Both have been on many Arts NSW funding assessment panels and have extensive experience in the industry.
Bathurst on Tuesday 31 May (4pm-6.30pm at CSU)
