PUBLIC ART Instagram challenge

Filed : Cultural Tourism, Projects .

We’re tagging public art across the region – in a digital, virtual sense anyway. Get your phone out and join our summer Instagram challenge.

We’re making maps of some of the cultural offerings in our region – art and studio trails, festivals, museums and … public art.

Where is the public art in Central West NSW?

From commissioned sculptures to murals, farmer-made paddock art to stencils and paste-ups, we’re logging the public art of the NSW Central West.

What’s ‘public’ art? That cheats’ source of all information, Wikipedia, defines it as: “Public art is art in any media that has been planned and executed with the intention of being staged in the physical public domain, usually outside and accessible to all.” Our definition? Outside, made as art, accessible to the public.

Help us add to our map:

  1. Keep an eye out for public art
  2. Take a picture
  3. Post it on Instagram
  4. Tag @artsoutwest and #publicart #centralwestnsw
