Organised by Arts OutWest, Orange Sings brings together five local choirs for a free performance on Saturday 2 July at Orange Regional Conservatorium of Music.
Choirs performing are Orange Male Voice Choir, Orange Regional Conservatorium Symphonic Choir, Orange Regional Conservatorium Chamber Choir, Caesura and the Come Together Choir.
“This is an opportunity for people to share their love of singing. It’s completely non-competitive, just lots of fun,” said Arts OutWest’s Tracey Callinan, a passionate singer who also conducts Bathurst’s Sounds Live choir.
The performance is 2.30pm Saturday 2 July.
Each choir will perform some of their favourite pieces and then all come together at the end to perform a new song, about Orange, especially written for the event.
Arts OutWest has run the popular Bathurst Sings for the past three years and this year extends the concept to Orange. This year’s Bathurst Sings event will be held Sunday August 2, 2.30pm at the Flannery Centre.
“The Bathurst Sings events have been very successful, the choirs really enjoyed being together, sharing their performances,” Ms Callinan said.
“My vision is that this could one day be a Central West wide event bringing together choirs from across the whole region,” Ms Callinan said.
Over 150 local singers are expected to perform at the concert.
The public is welcome to the free event.
