Arts OutWest and visiting South African music group Medleko Meropa are offering workshops and interactive performances for schools and community groups. 

Inland Sea of Sound sensations MEDLEKO MEROPA from South Africa are back!

Medleko Meropa are a seven piece music and dance group from Pretoria (Tshwane) and surrounding townships in South Africa.  Drawing on various South African musical traditions, the group use percussion such as drums and marimba, vocals and dance to create a high energy performance which engages with people of all ages and backgrounds.  The members of Medleko Meropa are all highly skilled musicians with international performance experience as well as skills in community engagement and participation.

Medleko Meropa are coming to perform at Inland Sea of Sound Festival on Mount Panorama 4-5 November and at Artlands Dubbo (October 27-30) and are available for the dates below.

Medleko Meropa’s tour the regional NSW is funded by the Office of the Mayor of Tshwane, South Africa.

Workshop options:

  1. Interactive performance of African music and dance
  2. Drumming circle workshop (Suitable for groups with own drums)
  3. Dance workshops – African movement session

All sessions are in-schoo, approximately 1 hour and cost $253 (inc. GST).
