Half price Cowra Civic Centre hire
Touring? Looking for a great venue in Cowra? Cowra Council are giving 50% off hire fees for the newly refurbished Cowra Civic Centre.
A massive 50 per cent reduction in hire fees for Cowra Council’s Civic Centre in Darling Street is aimed at firing-up utilisation of the refurbished venue, Cowra Mayor, Councillor Bill West said.
“Council now has no outstanding debt associated with the 2008 refurbishment of the venue so we’re looking to increase its use by both locals and those coming to Cowra for functions and other events,” Cr West explained.
“The theatrette features a modern, automated digital screen that regularly features classic, contemporary, and children’s films so that locals don’t have to travel to centres like
Bathurst or Orange to enjoy the fun of the theatre,” Cr West said.
“While we’re not able to impose these 50 per cent reductions on all movie screenings due to the licensing costs of these events; we have reduced the costs to social groups for booking movie screenings by $25 per event,” Cr West said.
The Civic Centre also has a small kitchen allowing for catering of social events such as weddings, birthday parties, family occasions, and theatrical and musical performances.
“We have a first-class venue here and these hire fee reductions are designed to increase utilisation of the facility in the Shire,” Cr West concluded.
All hire charges, conditions, contact details, and application forms for use of the Civic Centre are available at Cowra Council’s Customer Service Centre at 116 Kendal St, Cowra.
