Forbes to keep ‘Dogman & Rabbitgirl’

Filed : Local and industry news .

The Dogman & Rabbitgirl Pyramid Sculpture by artists Gillie & Marc was originally installed at Albion Park as part of the Sculpture Forbes competition, the contemporary artwork has been on load for the past 12 months with $20,000 needed to purchase the work.

Earlier this week the Forbes Advocate ran an article asking the community if the sculpture should go or stay.  After reading the community comments artists Gillie & Marc decided to donate the artwork to the Forbes community, saying that they would “really like The Pyramid to stay”.

Forbes Mayor Phyllis Miller said it was wonderful that Gillie and Marc had decided to donate the sculpture to Forbes.

“While the artwork is diverse, it has created great discussion within the community and we have had visitors come to town just so they can see the sculpture,” Mayor Miller said.

Gillie and March are award winning artists and are also behind the Henry Lawson statue in Grenfell and the Dubbo Rhinos.  See more of their at
