Storytelling Workshop with Visiting Welsh Storytellers

Sat May 4 at 9:30 am - 11:30 am

Adverse Camber produces electric encounters through storytelling and music. They create a world in which traditional stories and extraordinary storytelling performances are an essential part of life.

In May 2019 acclaimed UK company Adverse Camber and three Welsh storytellers come to Australia. Alongside performances they’re offering workshops for the community in their rich form of storytelling. Their works explore cultural and linguistic identity, showcasing the universality of the human imagination as well as the distinctive landscapes and qualities of particular cultures. They offer rich potential for cultural exchange.

The sort of storytelling that we are focussing on in this workshop is a performance-based art. It comes from an oral tradition and may involve traditional tales, but can also be contemporary stories or interpretations of wisdom or information. These workshops will be about learning from these three experts will also be an opportunity to acknowledge the skills of all the participants and to share and exchange knowledge.
