Closing: Expression of Interest Seeking Local Molong and District Aboriginal Artists
Fri 8 December 2017,Free
Western NSW Local Health District is pleased to invite local Aboriginal artists to submit a portfolio/ photo examples of their work to be considered for Molong Multipurpose Service’s Aboriginal Signage and Artwork project.
Featuring local Aboriginal artwork in the MPS is an opportunity both for the artist to showcase their work, and to be a part of building the strong cultural connection between our hospital and our community.
The proposed artwork will include the story of Yuranigh, the Wiradjuri warrior who became a guide to Major Thomas Mitchell on his expedition to central Queensland, in 1845. Mitchell described Yuranigh as his ‘guide, companion, counsellor and friend’. The story will feature along the hallway of the North Wing as you approach the residential aged care wing named after Yuranigh.
This expression of interest includes a two stage selection process. Shortlisted artists will participate in a site visit prior to preparing full proposals.
Submissions must be received either by e-mail to Fiona Ostini, Change Manager email@example.com or Deborah Kenna, Health Service Manager Deborah.Kenna@health.nsw.gov.au or in a physical portfolio delivered to the Molong MPS front office King St, Molong, NSW 2866 by 4.30pm Friday, 8th December 2017.
