Calling all Mini Scientists! Little Bang Discovery Club
Tue February 20 at 10:30 am - 12:00 pm
Little kids will discover the world of science with Parkes Library’s new program Little Bang Discovery Club.
This fantastic four week STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths) program will develop ideas and skills that inspire further scientific exploration, discovery and learning in children aged 3 to 5.
Parkes Branch Librarian reports the Library team have been trained, the resources have been prepared and it is time to launch this exciting new program.
“Key features of the Little Bang Discovery Club (LBDC) are that each child and their parent/carer work together on hands on activities, question and answer time. A Discovery Box and book is loaned to each child for the duration of the sessions” said Andrea.
The program runs for four sessions, with the child and parent/carer asked to attend each session. The first session will commence on Tuesday13 February, at 10.30am, with the final session on 6 March.
Bookings are required in person at Parkes Library before the first session commences. There are places for eight children.
Little Bang Discovery Club is a fun-filled 4-week hands-on program that combines everyday objects and experiences with genuine scientific enquiry methods that children and their accompanying parents will thoroughly enjoy.
Little Bang Discovery will continue throughout the year: 8 – 29 May, 12 June – 3 July, 31 July – 21 August, 23 October – 13 November, and 27 November – 18 December.
