Becoming the Future seminar series for regional artists

Filed : Arts and funding opportunities, Local and industry news .

This workshop/seminar program is the accumulation of the past 8yrs of Cad Factory work addressing issues of access to creative world leaders in regional NSW.

The Cad Factory, Music NSW, National Museum of Australia, Manchester Metropolitan University, the Department of Primary Industries and Create NSW are pleased to present Becoming the Future, an intimate seminar series that makes world leaders available to regional artists.

The Cad Factory are specifically looking for regionally-based women to take part.

Our program attempts to break down hierarchies of city/country by focusing the skills and attention of world leaders and peak bodies into regional NSW.

Becoming the Future features Susan Rogers, Clive Parkinson, Joni Adamson and Tony Birch because they are recognised world-wide as leaders; they have had significant impact and contributed to their area of expertise; and their work intersects with the work of the Cad Factory.

Access to new ideas, knowledge, experience and national/international thinking.

Over 2019, Susan Rogers will present on music production and cognition, Clive Parkinson will present on arts and health, while Joni Adamson and Tony Birch will present on Environmental Humanities and our river systems.

A series of projects will be developed and delivered in 2020 that have sprung from engagement with these world leaders and their contribution to new knowledge.

Here’s an interesting interview which features Prince engineer, Prof. Susan Rogers, and her story of working for Prince, (her favorite artist) coming aboard during the Purple Rain sessions: https://www.mixcloud.com/TheCharlesRiversShow/princes-engineer-1983-1987-susan-rogers/
