Aboriginal Arts Development Officer
The Central West Aboriginal Arts Development Officer is Aleshia Lonsdale. Aleshia is a Wiradjuri woman and the practising visual artist Tirikee. She is one of the Aboriginal Arts Development Officers across NSW networked via Regional Arts NSW.
Aleshia and the Aboriginal Arts Development program is supported by a steering committee which includes elders and staff from Aboriginal organisations.
In addition to coordinating the work listed below, Aleshia has also been helping other agencies, like Bathurst Regional Art Gallery, with programming and education activities connected to Aboriginal Arts.
In 2010 Aleshia took over from our inaugural AADO Ted Budd. Ted and Aleshia were both mentored by the acclaimed industry expert Peter White.
